FACHPACK Strengthens Exchange Between Converting and Packaging
With the new ‘Converting meets Packaging’ pavilion, FACHPACK 2025 is focusing on the close connection between the two industries for the first time. Seven exhibitors will be showcasing innovative technologies, materials and processes in Hall 7 – and inviting visitors to discuss the packaging solutions of tomorrow.

Whether finishing, coating, printing or laminating – without converting, there would be no functional and brand-effective packaging. At the same time, the requirements of the packaging industry provide important impetus for innovation in converting. FACHPACK is responding to this close connection with its new joint pavilion, ‘Converting meets Packaging’.
“Packaging and converting are inextricably linked,” explains Phuong Anh Do, event manager at FACHPACK. “Whether it's finishing, flexible packaging development or adhesive technology – both industries are intertwined. FACHPACK offers the ideal platform for this: it's where the most important players in the European packaging world meet, from machine manufacturers and converters to brand owners. Our goal is to promote exchange between them and facilitate new partnerships.”
The pavilion in Hall 7, Stand 7-606, forms the centre of this exchange. Together with M2N Media, publisher of the trade media PRO Flexconvert and PRO Flextronics, a curated presentation area has been created that is specifically tailored to converting companies. The focus is on forward-looking solutions – from recyclable barrier papers and solvent-free laminating processes to high-precision winding technology for ultra-thin materials.
“We are very much looking forward to returning to FACHPACK, which is becoming increasingly important in the converting industry,” emphasises Martin Hirschmann, Editor-in-Chief of PRO Flexconvert, adding: “Organising a separate pavilion for companies from the converting industry is a logical step in the expansion of our media business!”
What Visitors can Expect in the New Pavilion
Seven companies have confirmed their participation so far, including Jakobs-Houben, Dr. Hoenle, Ahauser Gummiwalzen, Kroenert, AST Beschichtungstechnik, ESWE-Flex, Block & Mohr, Neo System Tec and Burckhardt of Switzerland. Market participants are showing great interest, and participants are convinced of the added value of the new pavilion for exhibitors and visitors alike.
Kroenert, a developer and manufacturer of coating and laminating systems, sees FACHPACK as an ideal platform for establishing new contacts. “The opportunity to present ourselves together with other companies from the converting industry and to encounter an environment that offers innovative packaging solutions is particularly attractive to us,” says Christian Werner, Regional Sales Director/Area Sales Director at Kroenert. “We want to deepen existing customer contacts and attract new prospects – we are particularly interested in collaborating with manufacturers of paper-based barrier solutions and producers of flexible packaging in order to further develop this area together.”
Co-exhibitor Dr. Hoenle, a UV specialist, covers several important disciplines related to the packaging industry in its Curing and Disinfection business units. “This makes FACHPACK the perfect platform for Hönle to showcase the possibilities of UV technology for efficient packaging printing processes and for disinfection with UVC,” emphasises Volker Selg, Director Sales Hoenle Business Unit Curing.
Burckhardt of Switzerland is using the joint pavilion to explore new territory: “Is this our trade fair?” – the Basel-based family business wants to answer this question on site. Specialising in precision solutions for perforation and fibrillation, Burckhardt is bringing Swiss-made technology for flexible materials to the FACHPACK stage. The focus is on applications that functionally enhance materials through targeted perforation – for example, for packaging, technical textiles or acoustically effective surfaces. The target audience includes developers, inventors, production professionals and decision-makers who are looking for individual converting solutions.
Converting also plays a central role in the FACHPACK supporting programme as a value driver in the packaging industry. “We see ourselves as a platform, but also as a source of inspiration,” Phuong Anh Do continues. “Our claim “We make the future” also means bringing the right experts together to develop joint solutions – whether through new materials, more efficient processes or stronger cooperation along the value chain.”
The new pavilion brings the key players together – making it the perfect place for practical innovations at the interface between converting and packaging.
