This year, the workshops will once again focus on topics such as sustainable materials, design for recycling, innovation in the supply chain, career planning and interdisciplinary work. The format creates a clear win-win situation for companies and young professionals. ‘FACHPACK showcases the diversity of our industry. It complements our practical study semester and our excursions. It is easier to make acquaintances and have good conversations when there is an incentive to break down communication barriers through events. We are therefore grateful for these opportunities,’ says Prof. Dr. Sven Sängerlaub from Munich University of Applied Sciences.
A special highlight this year is the FACHPACK trade fair rally. A kind of obstacle course leads to a dozen innovative companies that are specially prepared for the students' visit and present their products and services in a compact format. At the trade fair stand, visitors can get to know the respective company and its services in a compact way. "This makes STUDENT DAY a special and eventful experience. If you like, you can take a journey through the world of packaging in a single day," says Oliver Berndt.
Prof. Dr. Sängerlaub also confirms that STUDENT DAY is worthwhile for both sides: "So far, companies such as Beiersdorf, Dalli, Henkel, Herma, Smurfit Westrock and Tchibo have participated. Each company has its own culture and expectations, and the specific challenges also differ. STUDENT DAY is a good platform for conveying an impression of the characteristics of the companies. That's what makes the format so valuable."
Numerous success stories underscore how important events like STUDENT DAY are for the future of entire industries. Former participants now hold positions of responsibility at the companies they got to know at STUDENT DAY. "For companies, STUDENT DAY is a valuable platform for positioning themselves as attractive employers at an early stage. It's not just about recruiting, but about engaging in dialogue with the next generation on an equal footing. Especially in a technology-driven industry, it is crucial not only to find young talent, but also to win them over. Visibility, authenticity and getting to know each other honestly are key components – and that's exactly what STUDENT DAY offers," says Oliver Berndt.
