FACHPACK opens its gates in September

From 23 to 25 September 2025, the packaging sector will gather in Nuremberg again for FACHPACK, the European trade fair for packaging, technology and processing. At NürnbergMesse, preparations are in full swing. The around 1,400 exhibitors expected will be spread over 11 exhibition halls. Ninety percent of the display area has already been booked. As always, trade visitors can look forward to an exciting supporting programme alongside a wealth of products and services. The online ticket shop will open soon.

In just under six months, Exhibition Centre Nuremberg will once again become the place to be for the European packaging industry. As in previous years, the exhibitors at FACHPACK 2025, compactly spread over 11 exhibition halls, will cover the entire packaging supply chain. The focus is on packaging and packaging accessories, as well as innovative solutions from the packaging technology segment. Both these main segments are complemented by solutions for the printing and finishing of packaging and for intra-logistics. For trade visitors from packaging-intensive sectors like food, beverages, luxury foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, health care, non-food, pet food and other consumer goods, but also automotive, technical articles, medical devices and various other industrial goods, FACHPACK 2025 is an event not to be missed.

Phuong Anh Do, Director of FACHPACK, comments: “I am looking forward not just to the comprehensive, trailblazing trade fair but especially to the lively discussions about the main FACHPACK theme ‘Transition in Packaging’. This dialogue is immensely important because the industry is undergoing a radical shift, and a sustainable digital transformation is unavoidable. And that is why here in Nuremberg in September, we will all come together again to discuss the important issues affecting the industry and provide new impetus about the potential opportunities of this transition and how they can be exploited – in keeping with the FACHPACK slogan: ‘We create the future’.

Packaging sector stresses the added value of FACHPACK

The packaging community is also eagerly looking forward to FACHPACK 2025. As Martin Rank, Head of Sales & Marketing at Etimex Primary Packaging GmbH, says: “FACHPACK inspires me year after year, because it is not only one of the leading fairs for packaging solutions in Europe but also a platform for innovation, dialogue, and sustainable developments. It’s where industry experts come together to discuss the latest trends and showcase innovative solutions. For our company, FACHPACK offers significant added value as it allows us to engage in dialogue with existing and potential business partners, absorb new ideas, and present our innovations to a professional audience. Anyone operating in the packaging industry simply cannot go past FACHPACK – it is the main platform for all those who want to help shape the future of the sector.”

Sonja Bähr, Director Business Development at B+P Creality, also underlines the importance of FACHPACK: “FACHPACK impresses me with its special combination of dependability and innovative strength. It consistently provides an exceptionally good overview of the latest developments, trends and technologies while offering a positive framework for candid discussions with industry experts. This is why for us, FACHPACK is an unmissable industry event. There is currently a lot of uncertainty due to the legal, economic and political constraints affecting the entire industry. It is therefore even more important for us to use FACHPACK as a key platform for dialogue, to stay up to date, and gain valuable inspiration for our business. Moreover, with new formats like Women4Packaging, the fair offers exciting new opportunities for discussion and development. This is why FACHPACK is an absolute must for us!”

Supporting programme offers valuable impetus for an industry in transition

In 2025, FACHPACK participants can again look forward to a wide-ranging supporting programme that is simply unmissable. In both FACHPACK forums, industry experts provide insights into current challenges, explore opportunities, trends and concrete strategies, and offer solutions to topical issues. In the PACKBOX forum, the focus is on forward-looking topics like the use of artificial intelligence in development and production, strategies for implementing the EU Packaging Directive (PPWR), circular economy models, and international market trends. There will also be an in-depth exploration of issues relating to sustainable materials and regulatory developments. In the INNOVATIONBOX exhibitor forum, FACHPACK exhibitors will again showcase their new products and process innovations in short and snappy presentations.

The networking event ‘Women4Packaging’ goes into its second round this year. The aim is to give women working in the industry – whether exhibitors or trade visitors –a platform where they can share knowledge and ideas, learn from one another, and provide mutual support. This year, the focus is on practical aspects, and various stations on different topics are planned. Also back this year is the Alternative Packaging Solutions Pavilion in Hall 3, which showcases innovative packaging materials made from renewable resources. In this context, FACHPACK is again cooperating with packaging design agency Pacoon, which will present various focus topics relating to alternative and sustainable packaging solutions in the moderated forum SOLPACK 6.0.

STUDENT DAY: Innovation – Networking – Future Prospects

On the third day of the fair, the STUDENT DAY will return to FACHHPACK in partnership with the German Packaging Institute (dvi). The event aims to foster interaction and dialogue between company representatives and around 100 students attending courses on packaging technology, sustainability and product design in face-to-face conversations and workshops.

For companies, the benefits are obvious: They can quickly get to know potential future employees (interns, students working on their bachelor’s and master’s theses, entry-level candidates) in personal conversations. Various workshops also allow them to get fresh ideas and direct feedback from these young people on specific topics or company projects.

In turn, the students enjoy direct contact with practitioners from all areas of the packaging supply chain and benefit from presentations, workshops and discussions on current sustainability issues. They can also learn about issues affecting the future and get to know the trends and best practices in packaging design.

The STUDENT DAY in 2024 was a resounding success. Sidonie Laure Tchouonto, a student at the Media University in Stuttgart, says: “The STUDENT DAY in 2024 was a very enriching event for me. I was able to add to my knowledge and establish valuable contacts with companies. I particularly enjoyed the exchanges with the other students. The discussions during the workshop helped me to broaden my thinking, while the interactive elements of the practical exercises made the event even more attractive. I now have a better idea of the area I’d like to work in later.”

Start-ups – register now and be part of the community!

Listen up, innovative young companies from Germany! The “Young Innovators” Pavilion, subsidised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), enables German start-ups and new companies to present their companies and product innovations to a professional audience at FACHPACK 2025. International start-ups with a registered office outside Germany can show their innovative products and processes to interested packaging specialists at the Newcomer Pavilion.

Parallel to FACHPACK: POWTECH TECHNOPHARM in Halls 9 to 12

For many FACHPACK visitors, a walk around Halls 9 to 12 also offers huge benefits this year, because this is where POWTECH TECHNOPHARM will be showcasing current and future solutions in processing technology, the upstream phase of packaging. POWTECH TECHNOPHARM, which runs parallel to FACHPACK, is the international trade fair for technologies for processing powders, solids, fluids and liquids in Europe. Thanks to the addition of the TECHNOPHARM component, POWTECH TECHNOPHARM also covers the GxP-compliant manufacture of liquid, semi-solid and solid pharmaceuticals, where solid products play a leading role. As a result, the international trade fair offers solutions for all industries that process powders, granules, bulk solids and liquids: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and animal feed, energy, machinery and equipment manufacturing, plastic and rubber, environment and recycling, cosmetics and skin care and non-metallic minerals (pit and quarry). A FACHPACK ticket also gives visitors access to POWTECH TECHNOPHARM.
