The German packaging machinery industry is in a good position – but at the same time under pressure to change: regulations are increasing, there is a shortage of skilled workers, and the world is in a state of constant flux – which is manifesting itself in new opportunities such as emerging markets, but also in new competition – and with AI, a technology is entering the field that is leading to unprecedented rapid disruption. In short, new solutions and business models are needed.
The new partnership between FACHPACK, Packaging Valley, and Hüthig Medien brings together expertise where it is most urgently needed: in the transfer of knowledge between machine builders, component manufacturers, users, and research institutions.
This also reflects our agenda, which focuses on strong practical relevance rather than abstract visions of the future: How can rigid production lines be converted into flexible, modular systems? How can alternative packaging materials be processed without losing efficiency? What business models emerge when machines are no longer sold but operated as a service?
