3D Printing: Driving innovation in packaging machine construction

Today 3D printing is already radically changing the production of parts in many sectors of industry. The method is used on an everyday basis in aircraft construction and in the automotive industry, and is also gaining ground in mechanical engineering. The advantages of additive manufacturing can also be applied in packaging machine construction to integrate components with functions and properties that had previously not been possible in the automated packaging process. As many exhibitors at FackPack 2018 will be showing, 3D printing represents the logical application and implementation of the demands that Industry 4.0 is making on industrial production. To explore how this revolutionary technology can be used in practice, institutions such as Aalen University and mechanical engineering companies such as Gerhard Schubert GmbH Packaging Machines are researching new opportunities. The following video provides more information.
