Web to pack: Build and design your own packaging!
During the development of our 3D Packaging Design Extension our aim was to streamline the whole ordering process of packaging products. Until now, this process was very time consuming, cost-intensive and complicated - especially for end users. Thanks to our 3D Packaging Design this whole process that normally took several days/weeks and multiple backend resources is highly automated now and can be finished within hours if not even minutes.
Your customers can use the various packages as the foundation for their own design adding their own branding elements online. All sorts of graphical content and customizable sizes and shapes for the product are possible.
With CloudLab’s 3D Packaging Design Extension, your customers can choose between two different workflow approaches: The professional workflow for uploading finished designs is suitable for customers who want to create their own design in an offline application such as Illustrator or InDesign. The customer selects the appropriate packaging, defines the dimensions, downloads the PDF template, designs it and then uploads it back to the product page. Using this approach the customer can directly check his design on a dynamically generated 3D object and then proceed with the order process.
Alternatively, it is possible to create the design and personalize it using CloudLab’s powerful online editor createX, which can be used even without the slightest previous knowledge of graphic design or packaging design.
Within milliseconds, the software creates all information and all files that are needed to start the production: the print ready PDF file, the customized die-cut as PDF, DXF and as CF2 file, and the authentic 3D real time preview to allow the full WYSIWYG personalization. All data is automatically created for production, based on user-entered variable dimension values within parameters defined by the print service provider, enabling workflow automation and reducing overhead costs. This represents outstanding and innovative state-of-the-art software engineering, directly responding to customer’s needs. Of course all this is HTML5-based and supports responsive web design which renders well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes, which enables a particularly straightforward design experience.
Thanks to the recently confirmed and pioneering cooperation with DVS System Software Iserlohn (www.packedia.de), CloudLab enables its customers to directly transfer packagings from the extensive catalogue of packagings and displays from DVS to their existing CloudLab system via a new joint interface. Naturally, all existing workflows remain the same. The often costly product creation for your Web to Pack project is therefore no longer necessary.
