This is a new generation of oriented barrier and non-barrier films obtained by mono axial orientation. The purpose of the development was creating solutions for fulfilling the always growing market requirements in terms of DOWNGAUGING, ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY, ECONOMICAL ADVANTAGE and REDUCTION OF PLATIC USAGE but keeping or even improving films characteristics. SUPER PFC films are a family of O-PE/EVOH/PE with outstanding barrier and mechanical properties; these films in 40my have better mechanical and barrier properties compared to conventional 70my PE/EVOH/PE films and even better puncture resistance compared to conventional 50my PE/PA/EVOH/PA/PE. SUPER PFC films can be available in LOW S.I.T., PEELABLE and AF versions.
CRYSTAL PE films are a family of O-PE films with incredible stiffness and longitudinal modulus up to 3000MPa. CRYSTAL PE films have been developed for ROTOGRAVURE printing and for BOPP and PET replacement in laminated structures. CRYSTAL PE films can be available in EASY TEAR, LOW S.I.T., METALIZED and BOTH SIDE TREATED versions.
Both families of products (CRYSTAL PE + SUPER PFC), in combination with each other by lamination, are able to give to the final packaging similar mechanical characteristics to those laminated with standard PET or BOPP and superior barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor, therefore ensuring a lower environmental impact due to the reduction of thickness and possibility of RECYCLING. These multilayer structures have been tested as TOP LIDS for trays, DOYPACKS and STAND-UP-POUCHES, for the packaging of multiple food products. The packs produced have given excellent results in terms of thermal and dimensional stability and excellent sealing properties ensuring an excellent packaging integrity. These products are the result of the new technology developed by Termoplast called CRYSTAL. This technology combines the know-how acquired over the years in 9-layer coextrusion with high-orientation processes that allow perfect control of the morphology of the crystals in order to determine their peculiar characteristics.
