At the FACHPACK 2019, Ökoplast GmbH from Mittweida presented multifunctional plastic parts optimally designed for use as workpiece carriers in automated cleaning lines for components. The special thing about these workpiece carriers is a grate structure that allows the dirty cleaning agent to flow out. The multifunctional carriers can be used both for transporting the parts and during the actual washing process so time is not lost during a complicated transfer process. In addition, the workpiece carrier no longer requires cleaning.
What we are describing here with such ease is the result of an intensive development and optimization process. The innovative workpiece carriers have to fulfill the highest requirements for dimensional accuracy, evenness, dimensional stability against chemicals and heat. Therefore, the suitable materials must be selected, the component and the corresponding shape constructed in accordance with the material and technology and the right processing parameters set, regardless of the subsequent use. Ökoplast can now refer to years of experience and comprehensive knowhow in this field and deliver the optimal solution for transport and washing processes for components in a wide range of sizes, geometries and materials. The actual production is done on injection molding machines with clamping forces between 50 and 3500 kN. Thus, Ökoplast can produce parts with shot weights between 0.5 grams and 1.1 kilograms. The Mittweidaer place great value on maintaining high quality standards. Whether or not the automated line subsequently fulfills its function reliably is ultimately dependent upon the quality of each individual element.
