The O-Box H 250: 250 hours temperature constant
The O-Box H 250, awarded the PackTheFuture Award 2018 in the category "Product Protection", is one of our innovative in-house developments. It is primarily a packaging concept and not an "off the shelf" product.
What was the idea behind the development of the O-Box H 250?
The shipment of high-quality goods such as medicines, chemical products or even exclusive food is associated with a special responsibility. In discussions with our customers and business partners in pharmaceutical logistics, it has always been a question of a genuine need for innovative solutions - especially for the transport of medicines and vaccines to areas with rather weak infrastructure. Because for medical products, precisely defined temperature profiles must be maintained in order to guarantee absolute product safety.
The innovative feature of this packaging concept is that its well-designed cooling system, patented by us, makes it possible to transport temperature-sensitive goods of all kinds for several days. The temperature inside the box remains stable for up to 250 hours or just over 10 days.
How is the O-Box H 250 designed?
The prototype of our O-Box H 250 is made of polystyrene - now uniformly referred to in the industry as airpop®. The peculiarity of the box, however, is its construction.
Which temperatures can be met?
Our O-Box H 250 has proven during inspections according to the ISTA summer profile to keep a temperature range of 2° to 8° C constant over 250 hours. As far as the official statement. In our prototype temperature tests, this temperature range was maintained for over 314 hours, with a slight temperature drop below 0.2° C within the first 24 hours.
Are you interested in this packaging concept?
With our award-winning packaging concept, we have simply created a basis on which, in collaboration with the customer, individual solutions can be found for the product to be packed in each case. For this we offer interested parties an intensive consultation. Because the safe shipping of temperature-sensitive goods depends on many aspects. For example the material density is important, as well as the size of the product, the temperature of the product, the required temperature range to be maintained during shipping, and much more. In order to arrive at an optimal concept, extensive temperature tests and intensive expert advice are essential.
