The TecPen is a handheld device for oxygen measurement primarily in food packaging and modified atmospheric environments. 80% of the packaging of perishable foods such as fish, meat, cheese, bread and vegetables but also pharmaceuticals, are packaged under a protective and pierceable atmosphere.
One environment which does not contain oxygen, slows down the aging of the food and thus ensures a guaranteed shelf life. With the TecPen, a professional random check of the oxygen content of the protective atmosphere is possible by inserting a needle into the pierceable packaging, sucking out the gas and measuring the oxygen content using the opto-chemical principle.
The TecPen is characterized by its ease of use, due to factory calibration and the built-in display which can be flexibly used, anywhere. The device also features a very high measurement range, starting from 100 ppm, and provides high accuracy for quality assurance used in a wide range of applications. The data taken from the device, then can be stored in the instrument and transferred via USB connection or Bluetooth into excel.
The devices key application and environment settings include food, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and modified atmospheric packaging (MAP) sectors.
The key advantages for the user in using the TecPen is compact size, digital display for Quality Assurance, data logging capabilities, and reduction of food-related illness.
