Vacuum Technology for Processes in the Primary Packaging Sector
In this step, vacuum suction cups from Schmalz place goods in their primary packaging. Suction cups are also used to open the packaging, hold it in place or shape it. The food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries have the highest standards for suction cup materials. Schmalz offers suction cups made of FDA-compliant materials. These materials can be cleaned with the standard cleaning agents typically used the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
Vacuum Technology for Processes in the Secondary Packaging Sector
In this step, vacuum technology from Schmalz is used to open the outer packaging and set the primary-packed product into the outer packaging. Vacuum technology is used in virtually all processes in the secondary packaging sector: case packing, blister packing, form-fill-seal (FSS) processes and cardboard packaging. The grippers have to flexibly adapt to different packaging materials. Plastic films can only be gripped by suction cups with particularly flexible sealing lips. Porous, abrasive cardboard boxes require suction cups with excellent sealing properties and particularly long service lives.
Vacuum Technology for Processes in the End of Line Palletizing Sector
During End of Line Palletizing (EOLP), packed products are placed on pallets and prepared for shipping. Vacuum technology from Schmalz can implement these processes manually or automatically. The deciding factors in efficient workflows are reliable operation for many hours at a time and the adaptability of the grippers, as well as positioning accuracy for palletizing. Entire product layers can be moved automatically with a layer gripping system SPZ or the area gripping systems FXC and FMP. The gripping system doesn’t have to be completely covered with products. The gripping system can be adapted to the individual requirements of the process. In addition, the area gripping systems are so flexible that they can move different products without requiring a gripper change.
