BERICAP supplies a large number of closure solutions for a wide variety of customer requirements in the automotive sector. The company has just recently added more pouring aids to its 38mm automotive closure product family 8mm and now supplies two further screw caps with flexible concertina bellows. The new closures are available in two designs: with a small spout (9.1mm) and a bellow length of 62.9mm, for gear oil for lawnmowers, pleasure boats or power saws for example, and with a larger spout (14.5mm) and a bellow length of 40.7mm, which is used specifically as a closure for engine oil.
The new closures offer numerous advantages. It has been possible to reduce the weight of the material, for example, which in turn reduces costs for bottlers whilst contributing to the sustainability of the entire process chain along the way. A polyethylene-based material was also chosen for both the screw cap and bellows, which means that they can be disposed of together. A flow control system has been incorporated in order to enhance user-friendliness. This allows the product jet to be precisely positioned and the required quantity to be regulated and poured without making a mess. The special design and material of the bellow tubing means that it can be easily straightened out and then folded back up and resealed after use. If used as intended, therefore, it is virtually impossible to contaminate the environment.
The new closures can be used on the standard 38mm automotive opening without significantly changing the overall height of the sealed container. The latest BERICAP tamper-evidence band (Slit Flex Band = SFB) prevents the product from being tampered with; before being opened for the first time, the bellow tubing is additionally protected from unwanted interference by predetermined breaking points on the cover plate.
