Semi-automatic machines for small-batch production: The „little ones“ from B+S
More possibilities in small batch production
Machine designs entirely suitable for use in an isolator
Bausch+Ströbel has built small, semi-automatic machines for small-batch production – mostly in laboratories – right from the start. Their special feature is that they employ the same filling and sealing technologies as high-speed machines. Now, Bausch+Ströbel has completely revised these “little ones”. The most interesting novelty: They have been designed to meet all requirements for use in an isolator. All components are resistant to VHP sterilization; they are not affected by vaporized hydrogen peroxide at all. The new small models are the perfect supplement for the flexible production system VarioSys - an isolator system of interchangeable machine modules allowing different combinations as required.
The „new littles ones“ that can be used to process bottles, vials, cartridges, syringes and test tubes, do not only feature the suitability for use in an isolator, they can do more than their predecessors: for example, the control system has been completely upgraded.. All adjustments can be carried out on a touch screen. Parameters such as speed, position or filling quantity can also be stored and filed there as so-called recipes. All movements are servomotor controlled. The optional filling needle movement allows bottom-up filling with the needle immersed thereby ensuring gentle handling of the product.
In addition to the basic models, all models are now also available in enhanced versions offering even more sophistication. It is possible, for example, to integrate 100% IPC with scales. Dosing is carried out directly on the scales. The filling quantity is automatically adjusted during production. Batch logs can be stored, and an interface for a printer is also available
It is the L-shaped design that all new semi-automatic machines have in common. They are not only easy to clean but can also be used in an isolator as they easily withstand the sterilization process inside the isolator. Each individual machine can also be operated with gloves.
This allows interesting combinations with the modular system VarioSys . The VarioSys is a small, space-saving system which can handle different products and batches in an isolator in quick succession due to short changeover times. The principle of this new solution is quite simple: A special isolator for production under clean room class A conditions can be combined with different production modules.. The respective production module can be easily rolled out from the isolator - just like a workbench - and then be replaced by a different one. A special inflatable seal ensures the secure and gas-tight connection between isolator and production module.
One of these special production modules can be equipped individually with all kinds of laboratory apparatus or with semi-automatic machines according to the requirements. It can accommodate two semi-automatic machines of the new series.
