Reusable equals added value!
Ecology and reducing costs through process efficiency are the be-all and end-all of modern logistics. Both of these target models are reflected in the principle of reusable logistics and container management, as simple as it is attractive.
The principle of reusable logistics, "multiple use instead of throwing away", is nothing new and has been in successful use in many sectors for decades now. To date, the automotive, foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinks industries have been the pioneers in this field, moving unimaginable volumes of reusable packaging of all kinds every day, every month and every year. Estimates have it that in Europe alone there are around 350 million reusable pallets, 8 million box pallets, more than 2 million large load carriers and 50 million small load carriers in circulation in the automotive industry alone. The expansion of the "reusable" recipe for success has resulted in immense volumes of packaging, complex supply chains and extremely high transhipment figures, presenting a company's logistics system with enormous challenges and calling for specifically targeted professional management. Only in this way is it possible to guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics processes and resources within the context of a "lean management" approach.
This is a task which comepack GmbH has adopted as its objective, in the meantime having taken its place as one of the market-leading suppliers in its area of core competence: reusable logistics and container management.
