Automatic color conversions for all printing processes: GMG ColorServer

The testing and normalization of diverse PDF data is time consuming with conventional methods. GMG ColorServer reduces this time by providing fully automated color conversions ensuring color accurate and consistent results in colorimetric as well as visual terms, even across different substrates. Custom white point adaptations can additionally be achieved with an integrated tool.

GMG’s unique DeviceLink technology has the advantage to bypass the drawbacks of ICC technology, for example by not reseparating the black channel. This makes it possible to optimally transfer print data from one printing standard to another. Also, when converting spot colors to CMYK, the superiority of the GMG DeviceLink technology is evident where the maximum gamut of the CMYK color space is used to full effect.

With GMG FlexoProof you can not only create contone proofs in contract proof quality, but also true halftone proofs based on the original 1-bit imagesetter data, so that potential errors can be detected before platesetting or the start of a press run.

GMG FlexoProof furthermore allows to simulate individual substrate structures such as paper fibres or corrugated cardboard structures. Even unfavorable conditions such as printing on inferior quality paper can be simulated with the help of variable image noise.

Equipped with both HKS and the Pantone®-Library pre-loaded as standards, GMG FlexoProof holds central spot color databases which can be edited and complemented.

With the optional XG module, you can also take advantage of the latest multicolor printer series Epson Stylus Pro x900, HP Designjet Z3200 and Canon imagePROGRAF iPF. These printers have an extended color space, allowing substantially more spot colors to be accurately simulated in a halftone proof.

Calculate the interplay of inks printed on top of each other and save valuable machine run times.

With GMG's patented OpenColor technology you can create stunningly accurate proofs that predict the overprinting behavior of inks (be it CMYK or spot colors) with only little measurement data. The spectral data calculation applies mathematical models that combine print process and substrate specific parameters with the actual ink information read from the measurement. Using spectral measurements, the ink properties can be better analyzed and thus simulated in the proof. The resulting proofs provide a higher accuracy and color conformance with the final product than comparable proofs of any other profiling and proofing system.
