Founded in Inverigo (Como) in 1935 by Luigi and Giuseppe Gerosa as a company specialising in printing and converting flexible packaging, the Gerosa Group is now an international corporation and industry leader.
With its five production sites in Italy (Cellografica Gerosa S.p.A. and, since 1993, Flexocit S.r.l.), Spain (Cellografica Gerosa S.A. since 1993, and Rieusset S.A. since 2004) and Romania (Artema Plast S.r.l. since 2007), five sales subsidiaries and more than 750 employees, the Gerosa Group is an example of Italian-made excellence, still maintaining its family-run character despite being an international organisation.
The Gerosa Group is an industry leader and pioneer in packaging for food products. Nowadays, it offers the best of what is available on the market in terms of research and development, photographic expertise, electronic and laser engraving of cylinders, and printing and lamination machines.
Its strength is its quality of service, based on flexibility and speed of response to client needs and maximum guarantee in terms of means, controls and production standards. The organisation uses the latest generation of printing and lamination machines which guarantee a high standard of quality of the graphic, chemical and physical, and dimensional elements of products. Thanks to the standardisation of the printing machines, automated production of cylinders and plates, the Group can optimise production capacity and times, thus benefitting the quality and continuity of customer service.
Its sense of responsibility for food safety, the quality management system, care and respect for the environment and constant investments in production and purification plants have enabled the Gerosa Group to obtain ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
This prestigious recognition is added to the ISO 22000 certification, first awarded in 2012 and which is evidence of the great attention the company pays to quality and service, consolidating the values of food safety which the Group has been committed to for more than 80 years.
In confirmation of the results achieved regarding the quality of processes and products, food safety, safeguarding the environment and protecting workplace health and safety, the Group also received the Excellence Award from Certiquality at the Prize-giving Ceremony which took place in Düsseldorf during Interpack 2014.
Continued commitment to reducing CO2 emissions from the production of flexible packaging has enabled the company to be defined as a forerunner of Green philosophy, thanks to its active and conscious role in the industry which it has taken on through the Green Soul System: a company approach based on strategic planning aimed at the use of technology with a low environmental impact.
The Group will renew numerous partnerships in scientific research projects with the most prestigious Italian universities on topics of development and techniques in analytical chemistry as a record of its support for compliance and sustainability.
The Group’s hard work, also to support the ecosystem, has enabled it to gain the following certifications: ISO 9001:2015 (quality), ISO 14001:2015 (environment), ISO 22000:2005 (food safety), BRC/IoP issue 6 (international packaging standards), BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (occupational health and safety) and SMETA audits.
