HEUFT eXaminer II XB: more coverage during the top-down inspection
The cereal bar, the pouch of fruit puree, the box of chocolates, the thermoform packaging with steak – and now also the whole pizza box and the complete tray of yoghurt: the latest release of the HEUFT eXaminer II XB simply offers even more coverage during the top-down identification of dangerous foreign objects, defects and incompleteness in product and packaging! It provides considerably more coverage by means of the unique pulsed X-rays with optimised high-voltage components and generators due to the innovative full-field image converter technology in addition to the proven multiple X-ray flash option which makes the careful and precise inspection of longer products and packaging materials possible. A single top-down X-ray strobe thus generates high-resolution X-ray images at unequalled low radiation levels which remain free of motion blurs even at high or fluctuating production speeds – even in the peripheral areas which are often blurred and distorted in the case of conventional X-ray devices.
The in-house developed HEUFT reflexx² image processing system combines them in real time and divides the identified objects into different contrast categories. Therefore the small piece of metal in the cereal bar can be clearly distinguished from the nut, the air bubble in the fruit puree from the plastic sphere and the glass splinter on the pizza from the ham cube. Missing product and packaging components as well as defects are also detected reliably.
The separation between X-ray detection and the HEUFT SPECTRUM II control unit now also makes the uncomplicated integration of further inspection modules possible – for example for the safe verification of product codes as part of the same process. In addition it offers more flexibility for different installation positions for an end of line integration and makes maintenance easier. The highly automated HEUFT SPECTRUM II platform ensures extremely precise product tracking with impressive performance – from the infeed, the compact, safely encased X-ray unit, the additional detections to the reject verification. A new type of retraction table in the extra wide conveyor which simply lets the faulty products fall through also makes the targeted rejection of more flexible packaging materials such as pouches or particularly large size end products possible with which standard rejection systems with a feed motion might have difficulties. Brand and program changes can be carried out quickly and easily without manual mechanical intervention and recalibration of the X-ray components. The HEUFT NaVi user guidance supports and assists the user individually and audiovisually. More coverage during the careful and precise top-down inspection of products and packaging material of different types and sizes makes the new version of the HEUFT eXaminer II XB, which will soon be available as a turnkey solution, simply easy.
