for process safety and efficiency in serialisation
In response to the new serialisation requirements that will soon apply within the EU and the USA, b+b Automations- und Steuerungstechnik GmbH has developed a comprehensive solution including all software and hardware required for safe and efficient serialisation processing of pharmaceutical packagings.
The core of the system is a modular software architecture. This approach ensures that the software can be adapted at any stage to changing requirements at reasonable cost: for instance if you wish to incorporate additional lines and sites in the management system, if you need to adjust your processes to new coding and aggregation regulations or if you are investing in additional machinery. Our solution also caters for machines from other manufacturers.
The software solution can be implemented as a powerful production management platform for the simultaneous control and management of a wide range of coding and aggregation hardware.
The bb-trace SiteServer provides the central hub for the bb-trace software platform.
It hosts the database that stores the order, job, product and serialisation data of all lines and also runs the bb-trace SiteServer Service.
The bb-trace SiteManager software manages the bb-trace SiteServer database and provides users with access to the line, product, order, job and serialisation data.
Depending on the task in hand, the jobs/products can be edited directly in the bb-trace SiteManager and assigned to the respective lines. Users thus have the option to generate, import and manage serial numbers at one central location.
The serial numbers used in the various lines can be viewed and analysed according to the hierarchical logic (product > bundle > carton > pallet).
The bb-trace ERPLink is the automated bidirectional interface between the bb-trace SiteServer and the company‘s ERP system.
Through this interface, information such as expiry dates, batch codes and serial numbers can be retrieved from the ERP system for production.
The printed and verified serial numbers as well as all relevant validation and order details are then returned to the ERP system, with our without manual release at the bb-trace SiteManager.
The bb-trace LineLink is the automated bidirectional interface that connects the bb-trace SiteServer to the production lines.
The job data and serial numbers to be used are transferred from the bb-trace SiteServer to the respective lines.
Subsequently, the recorded and verified serial numbers and their aggregation and job references are returned to the bb-trace SiteServer.
This software module is used for serialisation purposes in production and comes with user-friendly functions for the control of cameras and printers.
In the bb-trace LineManager, operators can view and select the jobs received from the server via bb-trace LineLink. When the user starts a job, the associated serial numbers are printed, validated, recorded and, if necessary, aggregated (up to aggregation level 2-3) before they are returned via bb-trace LineLink to the bb-trace SiteServer for further processing.
Modules for re-importers / production software / Labels Platform 4
The label software "Labels Platform 4" provides a fast and flexible way for creating and printing custom labels.
Individual b+b software modules can be used for special production requirements, like the handling of re-imports.
For example incoming goods can be checked in by a handheld scanner. The products are sorted, combined with specific order numbers and recorded into the database.
Defect or already existing codes are detected and reported.
Another module is supporting the re-packaging process.
The products are taken from the warehouse, automatically registered, filled into a carton and a carton label is printed. At the same time this order assignment is transfered to the custom
