The top-down inspector combines pulsed X-ray technology, only available from HEUFT, with innovative image converters as the only system of its kind. Therefore the HEUFT eXaminer II XB, together with the advantages of the new device platform, achieves an unprecedented dimension in range, detection accuracy and operational reliability during the detection of foreign objects.
It is not only the new head of the HEUFT eXaminer II XB which makes it stand out from its predecessor. Its pulsating heart is now also even more powerful: the system of the new generation is based on the highly automated HEUFT SPECTRUM II device platform with the audiovisual HEUFT NaVi user guidance and is additionally equipped with full-field image converters for the first time. This makes the unique pulsed X-ray inspection for the careful detection of solid foreign objects made of glass, metal or plastic even more reliable, more precise and easier: the size of the foreign objects which can be reliably identified has been halved.
The camera and image intensifier technology used until now is replaced by the compact image converters. These extend the sensitive detection surface with a significantly increased resolution. Even the border areas of the extremely clear X-ray images remain free of distortions and aberrations. Larger sized products can therefore also be inspected continuously and with high precision.
The X-ray parameters adapted to the new full-field image converters reduce the already unequalled low radiation. In contrast to conventional scans it is emitted as X-ray flashes which only last a thousandth of a second. And only then when there is really something to be inspected.
The flashing prevents motion blurs at high conveyor speeds which can impair the detection reliability. In addition it makes a static inspection possible: the product can also be precisely examined even when the conveyor is not moving e.g. for internal quality assurance purposes. The multiple flash option carries out a complete check of particularly long products.
This pulsed X-ray technology, only available from HEUFT, makes the revolutionary, worldwide unique use of the compact image converters in inspection systems for the food industry possible in the first place. The high-voltage components and X-ray generators have also been optimised. The result: more compact devices with considerably more room and flexibility when adapting the conveyor for the precise inspection of products of different heights. The generators no longer require cooling and therefore the risk of contaminating the product to be inspected by possible coolant leaks is ruled out. A special technology for the self-adjusting tightening up of the easy to replace belt and the optimised mechanical drive of the conveyor belts reduce the need for manual intervention and simplify the maintenance of the system constructed in accordance with the hygiene-optimised HEUFT CleanDesign.
The considerably increased degree of automation and computing power of its new HEUFT SPECTRUM II head with the self-explanatory HEUFT NaVi user guidance make the reliable, tamper-free operation of the HEUFT eXaminer II XB simply easy. The HEUFT reflexx² real-time image processing system with teaching in capability clearly differentiates between harmless product inhomogeneities and critical foreign objects or defects. The result: a new dimension in range, detection reliability and resource efficiency during a careful top-down inspection.
