Servo system S6 – perfectly integrated into automation
Real-time communication with the control level is the main focus of the newly developed Drive Controller Series KEB COMBIVERT S6, which will be introduced at the SPS/IPC/Drives trade show 2014. Effectively immediately, the servo system in book format comes with the standard features EtherCAT / alternatively Profinet, Powerlink and CAN as serial interfaces to higher-ranking controls.
Universally configured for 3-phase power connection in the broad voltage range of 200 to 480 VAC with frequencies of 50 and 60 Hz, the innovation is available in the current size as well as another physical installation size in the up to 5.5 kW performance range, which will be available as of the fourth quarter of 2015.A unique feature is the integrated noise suppression, designed pursuant to the C1 and C2 environments according to EN61800-3 with leakage currents of less than 5mA for motor cables of up to 50 metres. This makes it possible to use the devices in installations with F1 protected switches with 30mA.
The currently available installation size in book format of 50x250 mm comprises nominal outputs of up to 2.2 kW and is configured for a 8 kHz nominal switching frequency with a 2.5 times overload, which is used mainly for the connection of typical synchronous servomotors.
The braking resistor in the power section for the direct connection of external brake resistance, an integrated brake control and motor temperature monitoring per PTC or KTY sensor round off the device series.
Functional safety requirements are addressed with the generally included safety function STO according to EN ISO 13849-1, performance level e / SIL 3- EN 62061.
The requirement for extensive standardisation is also addressed by the device's firmware, i.e. a software covers the entire range of motor operations and, in the various operating modes, optimally regulates asynchronous, synchronous, IPM or synchronous reluctance motors either accurate to the position with encoders or as sensorless regulated operation for exact speed and torque control without speed feedback.
Two universal channels for resolver, incremental TTL- IN or -OUT, SIN/COS, SSI, Hiperface, Endat and BISS encoders are implemented for processing the position information of the motor, and also direct position signals from the application.
During the course of further development, additional variants for the fieldbus solutions Profinet and Powerlink, as well as modular safety functions for SS1, SS2, SOS and SLS, will also be added to the series.
The new servomotor series Dynamic Line III, which is also available now, offers the perfect conditions for an integrated drive solution when it is combined with the SG planetary gearheads: With five available installation sizes in the torque range of up to 29Nm, the robust and highly overloadable motors combined with the low rotational backlash planetary gearheads and the Combivert S6 servo drive form an ideally aligned drive concept that leaves nothing to be desired.
