Tiedemann offers a huge portfolio of material testing instruments incl. systems for permeation test for a lot of different specimen like vapor, different gases incl. oxygen. All these products are manufactured by our partner Labthink, China. The products are wide spread in use with very good success and reliability.

Water Vapor Permeation
With our water vapor permeability testing equipment, the amount of water vapor can be measured which permeates through a layer of material. The specific ambient temperature and humidity can be set for each test. Depending on requirements, devices for flat packing materials or finished packages, as well as various sensors and measurement methods are available.

The premium device W3-330 and TSY-W3 are equipped with an electrolytic sensor. By a connection of W3-330 with nine satellite modules up to 30 different samples can be measured simultaneously. The TSY model is distinguished by its ease of use. Both devices have an integrated software and can both test finished packages as well as flat material samples.

In W3-130 the water vapor permeation is determined by a humidity sensor. From three samples both averages and individual measurement results are determined. The device W3-320 is equipped with infrared sensors in all the three chambers. In the models W3-030, W3-031, W3-060 and W3-0120 permeation is determined by weight measurement. The device W3-060 is equipped with six chambers and can test simultaneously by a network of satellites further modules up to 60 samples.
The model W3-0120 has 12 measuring chambers.

Gas Permeation
The equipment for measuring the gas permeability can be used for different materials and gases (air, O2, N2, CO2, CH4, H2, organic gases and mixtures). The specific ambient temperature and humidity is adjustable. Depending on requirements, devices for flat or finished, individually shaped packaging with different measurement methods are available.

By measuring the pressure difference, the models VAC-V1, VAC-V2, V3-VAC, VACVBS, G2-130, G2-131 and G2-132 can measure the transmission rate of gas, the solubility coefficient, the diffusion coefficient and the permeability rate for plastic sheets, laminated films, especially impermeable materials, tires, sheets, osmosis membranes and many other materials. The VAC devices are connected to a computer, while the G2 devices are equipped with an integrated software and only need input devices and a monitor.

For final packaging and containers such as bottles or packages, the device G2-130 is suitable. The model G2-110 is worldwide unique for checking the gas permeability of separation membranes.
If the material to be tested is a battery diaphragm, rubber sheet, laminated flat foil or polymer film we recommend the model BYTB2P.

With DM2-330 test are possible in addition to the differential pressure measurement, even with the constant pressure principle / the coulometric method, or a combination of both measuring methods. It is suitable for all of the above flat and non-flat materials.

For measuring the permeation of organic gases (eg, benzene, ethanol, aldehydes, ethers), we recommend the model OR2-410.
The MGT-01 is so far the only device in the world that can measure the gas permeation of mixed gases, while the TQD-G1 is designed specifically to measure the air permeability.

Oxygen Permeation
The oxygen Permeation tester OX2-230 and OX2-231 are equipped with a coulometric sensor and measure the oxygen barrier of the material sample after the constant pressure principle. Pastic foils, laminated, extruded, coated or high-barrier materials may also be tested as finished packages and containers made of plastic, rubber, paper or glass. The measurement can be carried out simultaneously in up to three independent chambers.

OX2-231 is our entry-level model and is characterized by a very high efficiency and cost-effectiveness. As the carrier gas, nitrogen is used. The high-performance device OX2-230 has a larger inspection range with higher accuracy. Here both nitrogen and nitrogen mixtures can be used as carrier gas.

This unit can be connected via a network with up to nine other satellite equipments. As a result, 30 different samples can be measured and controlled simultaneously.
