Carton Packer SOMIC 232 FS
for collating, grouping and packaging products into folded cartons and open trays
With the growing trend towards single-person households, the demand for single serve and smaller package sizes is also growing. First presented at Interpack 2014, our modular packaging machine 232 is perfectly suited for the packaging of smaller products as well as production of small units of sale. Compared to the standard 424 end of line packaging machine, this packaging system is not only more compact but also much more efficient. When used as a folded carton packer, this machine can produce an impressive 100 folded cartons per minute.
Carton packers are based on the modular, mechatronic SOMIC system modules and are equipped with individual format tools for varying product dimensions and carton models to meet the customer's packaging needs. This allows almost unlimited flexibility within the format range.
With the latest ILM PacDrive 3 technology, such flexibility in a compact machine is easy to accomplish.
Handling a wide range of different pre-packed products is a very demanding task. The products are fed into the machine individually and grouped to form the content of one folded-carton.
The folding head securely holds the product group and positions it on the flat carton blank.
The blank is then folded precisely around the entire product group and glued securely in place with hot melt adhesive.
In the closing module, the folded-carton lid is folded along the top side and closed with hot melt adhesive - and the packaging is complete.
All processes are entirely independent of the product itself, which always guarantees a perfect, attractive finish without risk of product damage.
