Paramelt (Hall 2-210), global producer of water based and hot melt adhesives have introduced several new metallocene hot melts this year.
The two new products in the 860-series provide long open time combined with very fast setting characteristics which offer customers significant potential for rationalisation of hot melts required across their installed packaging machine base. In addition to the wide operating window benefits, both products offer excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates including highly coated boards and materials with high recycled content. Combined with excellent heat resistance and suitability for deep freeze applications the new 860-series of products offer an extremely broad spectrum of application coverage.
Excelta 860 is specifically designed to offer the highest level of hot tack available in a metallocene hot melt adhesive to deal with high spring back boards and to reduce sensitivity to variation in pressing conditions on the machine. Its higher viscosity reduces flow out of the adhesive before pressing to minimise consumption requirements.
Excelta 861 is a lower viscosity grade, designed to offer application temperatures as low as 130°C depending on the required open time, whilst providing clean jetting without tailing. The clean running characteristics mean it is ideal for upward jetting applications or straw attachment. In addition, due to the lower viscosity Excelta 861 can be considered for the most demanding sift proof applications.
With economy in mind, Excelta 604 is available as a general purpose product for standard case and tray applications, especially in the fruit & vegetables sector.
In addition to new hot melt launches Paramelt are expanding global capacity. Most recently via a new, high efficiency FSSC 22000 certified plant in the Netherlands (doubling hot melt capacity in Europe), a new green field ISO 22000 certified plant in China and capacity extension in the US.
Paramelt is a multinational company focused on the development, production and sales of formulated waxes, adhesives and dispersions.
